There are three different irises in this painting, Wood Wine, Draculas Shadow, and Michigan Splendor. All were chosen because of their intensity of color and heartiness. Draculas shadow is a favorite of mine, how can a flower be almost black and still be that beautiful. Wood Wine looks as if someone had poured a glass of merlot onto its petals. And Michigan Splendor explodes with yellow and gold and that deep rich chocolate brown. All three seem to be cheering on the springtime, its too bad they can't last all year. But would we apprreciate them as much?

Evergreen Tulips

The inspiration of Evergreen Tulip came from my mother’s garden from when I was a little girl. She had grown this beautiful chartreuse tulip that even in the dark, gave a beautiful bright green glow. Year after year these tulips popped up. And, I remember being completely fascinated that the flower could actually be green. The contrast of these green tulips and the other brilliant spring flowers in the warmth of her garden was breathtaking.

Color: Mixture of a deep Hershey chocolate background with rich green stems and white with chartreuse green petals

Hi Diana-- A year ago we bought one of your paintings in Palm Springs, and in February we saw you there again. When I told you we'd remodeled our bar back home in Virginia to have a nice place to hang the painting, you said you'd like a photo, so here it is. I think it worked out very nicely, and the whole new look is giving us a lot of pleasure. Best. A.R.

Hello Diana, Yippee! What a nice surprise to find your beautiful work waiting for me when I got home from shopping today! It's absolutely lovely and we've found a perfect place for it in our home! We are thrilled with how it turned out and can't wait for friends to see it. Thank you for the magnificent job! I didn't get to see Ryan and Melissa's Bamboo original on the wall because they wanted to move some furniture around to enjoy it as soon as they enter their home! Can't wait to visit them again.
