Why paint wine? Well, have you ever really appreciated what goes into the making of a bottle of wine? There are so many complexities to a bottle of wine. I think most people who just open it and drink it never realize that there is so much more to wine. First, the right bottle and glass color must be chosen to keep the wine safe from light and any other harmful elements. Next, of course the perfect grapes are required. The winemaker chooses the right varietals for distinctive flavors and characteristics. And what about the labels? They are their own artform, and the best labels say "pick me" or "I am the only one". But what is inside is what truly counts. You really don't know until it has aged the proper amount of time, then when opened and tasted, then and only then do you know if you have a work of art! My paintings of wine explore these complexities of taste, color, aroma, and the subtle emotions they evoke.
